It is said that Demosthenes, one of the most important Greek orators, used to put a piece of chalcedony in his mouth to practice speaking loudly and clearly. In Tibet, it was seen as symbolizing the purity of a lotus flower, protecting against dissatisfaction and weakness and reminding one of what is essential.
Turquoise: throat chakra. Vitality, protection, success, joy. In ancient Egypt and Greece, turquoise was considered a protective stone that would discolor to warn of approaching danger.
